Chances are that your partner wouldn’t just come home and decide to be separated from you or get a divorce. There must have been some signs along the way. This article will make you understand behaviours that indicate your relationship or marriage is heading towards its end.
Emotional Withdrawal
This is when your partner is longer interested in doing the things they normally do before. They might completely shutdown or disengage from a conversation. They are no longer putting any effort into the relationship
Criticism
This is when they suddenly start to criticise everything you do. They are no longer content with how you do things and will criticise your every move. They will begin to focus on your flaws and judge you for them.
Contempt
This is where they loose respect for you. They might exhibit behaviour like sneering, eye-rolling, and name calling. They might speak to you in a disrespectful and condescending manner. They no longer have regard for your feelings and might mock you, be sarcastic and treat you like you are not worthy of any consideration.
If you are noticing any of these signs or behaviours in your partner, then you know that something is wrong and the relationship/marriage needs help else it comes crumpling down.
Relationships can be very complicated. One minute everything is fine and the next you might be on the verge of breaking up or divorce. If you feel like you need help with your relationship, couples therapy is the best and safest route to go through. But if your partner doesn't want to attend couples therapy, what do you do?
